DT Scraps of Darkness - Explore

Hello!

I'm a modern girl with a big vintage heart and as I saw this wonderful old photo from a sheltie
I thought this must be a new 'altered' layout.

you can find again this amazing layered die cut embellishments from 49 and Market,
dragonflies and leaves the right elements for very natural theme like
adventures in forest and meadows.

The flowers from 49 and Market are always a highlight,
they look very lively and natural for me.

I also used some oldbook page leftovers, torned paper stripes, emphera and stickers pieces from Prima Marketing
and two printed chipboards from our July 'Wayfarer' Main Kit.

I love it to use die cuts to add dimension, here I tried the burlap fabric (from Main Kit)
with some 'Star' cutting dies, it works very good

I combine plastic and paper leaves
and suitable to my vintage look I colored the layer embellishments
with a little bit metal acrylic paint
'Copper'

Thanks for your visit!
Happy crafting!

DT Scraps of Darkness - Dancing whales

Welcome!

I want to share with you
a sea mixed media canvas
featuring Scraps of Darkness March kit
'Boys will be boys'

I was inspired as I saw the wonderful blue whales and turtles
on  the Journaling cards Misc Me by Bo Bunny.

I love the sea and all the fantastic blue color shades
on the water.

It was a pleasure for me to make this canvas
with some fantasy elements.

two cut out turtles, swimming fin has only been partly glued,
the rest I have bent slightly, an interesting 3d effect !

I painted the piece of the missing tail fin with some acrylic colors.

I use the arrow chipboard from Blue Fern Studios
and divided him into two parts, now looks like two fantasy fishes.

transparent stickers are very practical,
because you can always see the underground paper

In the lower part I used a white texture paste
and this beautiful blue metallic Microbeads
from the Elements On Kit.

Thanks for your visit!
Happy crafting!

DT Scraps of Darkness - Mixed Media Gift idea

Welcome!

Kerstin here and a new project for our Scraps of Darkness Kit 'Boys will be Boys'.
I was inspired from the wonderful Journaling cards Misc Me and the transparent stickers
by Bo Bunny,
in the Main Kit
perfectly for a new little friendship gift.
The denim blue star tags and buttons from the Element Add On kit
were also suitable for this mixed media canvas with a lot of favourite quotes.
You are smarter, braver and stronger
than you ....

I used varios spray mist's, also golden metalic paint for the background,
and made some blue highlights with Tim Holtz Salty Distress ocean crayon
 and a blue glitter paint
because

On the floor of the facts is clearly too little glitter :-)
and some close up's for you

Many thanks for your visit!
Have a nice day!

a flower from the March Elements Kit On

the Splatter Arrows
colored with a little bit embossing powder and black acrylic paint,
the black sequins, the 'Collage des Ronds'  stamp here and there

a little bit embossing powder only in some places and
some highlights with golden metallic wax
and the chipboards have an altered look

the wonderful denim star tag together with some
fabric leftovers and a little car embellishment under the button

I have split the arrow chipboard in two pieces

DT Scraps of Darkness - Imagine

Hello !

My latest romantic layout in vintage style for our Scraps of Darkness Team.

Some years ago I was in Paris, a wonderful main town in Europe/France.
One of many nice things you can do there is to enjoy a coffee
in a small bistro on the street.
As I saw this beautiful old vintage photo I reminded me on this
and was inspired to make a layout to my favourite daydream.

I used again the beautiful 'Our story ' kit with a background paper
from the new Love clippings collection (Prima Marketing)

-Imagine- from the Bo Bunny Foil Transfers, also as negative used

Our march challenge theme here is to alter a chipboard, there are many opportunities to do that.
I works often with white embossing powder
and when you inked your chipboard only on few places, not
everywhere,  you will see a timeworn look as altered effect
 Easy and fast!

cut out's from the 3x4 Journaling Notecards

some letters from Kaisercraft with white embossing powder
and some stars from the Bo Bunny Foil Transfers

wonderful flowers from the Floral Add On,

flowers and lace were inked with Lindy's Stamp Gang Milk Chocolate Shimmer Powder
and a little bit water, that's really always a surprise when you see this magical effect

CSI No 225
Evidence: Stripes, Animals, Wings, Stars
Testimony: Daydreaming on paper, insp. words fly, impossible, dream

You can find our kits to purchase here,
and we have also a very inspiring  Facebook group here,
where we love to see everyone's work with our kits.

Thanks for your visit!
Happy crafting!

DT Scraps of Darkness - Little Ballerina

Welcome!

I was inspired from this beautiful words
- Art is a never ending story of illusions - , yes that's a true saying for me.

A little ballerina dreams of a future in the limelight.
This dream can come true, who knows that?
however, she loves the music and to dance.

I decided to used a background paper from the Prima Love clipping collection,
lovely paints for a romantic little princess layout.

some details

some stars from the BoBunny Copper Accents Foil Transfers Rub-Ons
 included in the Elements Add-On

I also used this beautiful dew drop background stamp
for the background and some leftovers from the notecards from this new Prima collection

ART letters - I colored the Kaisercraft chipboard letters
with a embossing powder in copper/ black shades

silk ribbon was perfect suitable to all this smart colours
and I added as highlight the 3 little metal hearts

Many thanks for your visit!
